Description

Smart Key WAVE is a two-module radio relay system for supported vehicles equipped with factory-installed Keyless Go or Keyless Entry systems.

The distinguishing feature of this version is its smaller vehicle-side module, which is one-third the size of the small module in the standard version.

Manual and Compatibility

Important: this device does not work with UWB keys. The manual includes the known list of vehicles equipped with UWB-enabled keys.

The device is not intended for unlawful use.

Availability and Delivery

The product is available from our store. Courier delivery is available following 100% advance payment.

Device Description

Smart Key WAVE receives and relays radio signals, extending the communication link between a compatible vehicle and its original key. It is a relay device, not a code grabber.

This type of device is also known as a Keyless Relay Stick, Universal Stick, Long Arm, Wave or Multibrand system. Its stated functions include unlocking, locking and starting supported vehicles.

The system consists of a larger key-side module and a smaller vehicle-side module. This compact version uses a vehicle-side module three times smaller than the standard small module.

Operating Modes

1. TOY-LEX Mode

TOY-LEX mode is described for supported factory keyless systems in:

  • Toyota vehicles: 2009–2025.
  • Lexus vehicles: 2006–2025.
  • Subaru vehicles: 2008–2025.

2. Multibrand Mode

Multibrand mode covers supported vehicles from other manufacturers equipped with Keyless Go or Keyless Entry systems, within the stated 2017–2026 model-year range.

3. FBS4 Mode

The supplied compatibility description lists:

  • Mercedes-Benz: supported vehicles through 2025.
  • Audi: supported vehicles through 2026.

This mode provides unlocking and engine-start functions on the listed compatible configurations.

The UWB exclusion applies to every operating mode.

Key Detection

TOY-LEX mode includes key detection and recognition for supported Toyota, Lexus and Subaru systems.

The operator of the larger module can see whether a compatible key is within the device’s operating range.

Range and Communication

The stated radio-link range between the two modules is up to 300 metres.

The description also states an effective working range of approximately 100–200 metres, rarely exceeding 250 metres, depending on the original key’s radio link, battery condition and surrounding environment.

The distance between the modules must be distinguished from the distance between the larger module and the key.

Walls, reinforced concrete and radio interference can affect communication. The radio-link margin is intended to maintain operation through obstacles and in busy parking areas.

Compact Vehicle-Side Module

The smaller module performs the vehicle-side relay function. Its reduced size is the main difference between this version and the standard model.

Placement inside the vehicle depends on the vehicle model. Follow the relevant instructions for the supported configuration.

Operating Principle

The device uses two relay modules: a receiving module near the vehicle and a transmitting module near the original key.

Once activated, the modules establish a communication channel that relays requests between the vehicle and the key.

Placement Requirements

The supplied operating instructions specify:

  • Position the smaller receiving module 10–30 cm from the door handle, near the vehicle’s antenna.
  • Position the larger transmitting module within 5–7 metres of the key, with its antenna plane aligned horizontally towards the key.
  • Incorrect antenna orientation may reduce the effective range.
  • Optional extended antennas are described as increasing the operating distance to the key to up to 15 metres.

Updates and Development

The device undergoes ongoing improvements, software updates and vehicle testing. Consult the current manual and compatibility list for the capabilities of the supplied version.
